Our second group meal of the summer was at Bar Almasara in Tormos
This
is the first year that we have arranged a monthly get together during the
summer break just to keep in touch
We had considered something similar last year, but decided there would
not be sufficient interest to make it worthwhile
At
the end of our last walk in May Terri suggested a get together during the four
month summer break
We sent out an email to the membership of both groups and were quite surprised
that there would be a dozen or so available for each date
We wanted to keep it casual and thought that a bar lunch would be best
We
don’t normally do this sort of thing ourselves, so it was a steep learning
curve
We
had suggested Wednesday in our email, but soon found that a lot of bars close
on that day
So
we had to contact everyone again to ask if they would still be available to
meet on Thursday instead
Fortunately
they were all ok with the change
Our
first meal was in July at Bar Estufa in Parcent, which we felt was the right
sort of venue
Everyone
seemed to enjoy it, and we wanted to find somewhere similar for the August meal
We
had been to Bar Almasara for after walk drinks a couple of times, but never for
a meal
Shortly
after the July meal we went to Tormos for a lunch snack to see what it was like
We
were very impressed, not only with the food but also the helpful staff
On
the day it was very hot, and we were glad that we had asked to sit inside
I
was particularly pleased that Dave and Sue could join us for this meal, because he
always takes such great photographs
It
was a very enjoyable meal and as always great to see so many friends again
This
was a great idea, and we are already looking forward to the September meal
