Another
large turnout, with twenty of us on this walk
It
was nice to welcome Helen and Roger back after their three week holiday in the
sun
Not
only was it their first walk in three weeks, but it was also much colder than
they have become used to
Helen
in particular seemed to be suffering from the cold
It
was also nice to have Anneke and Toon’s son joining us
Not
sure what he made of all these older people but he was very polite and avoided
any “last of the summer wine” type jokes
Alan
and Ruth, who live in Benidoleig, asked us to do this walk last year
They
then disappeared on holiday for a month or so
We finally got around to offering it three weeks ago
However
we then cancelled that walk due to a forecast of heavy rain
The
next week was the Almond Blossom walk
We
then had to postpone this walk for a further week
We
could hardly believe it when the weather forecast again promised 60% chance of
heavy rain
However
we did not dare to cancel it yet again, especially with so many signed up for
the walk
We
had provisional plans for a very wet weather programme
But
were delighted when we woke this morning to a dry and clear, if not sunny,
morning
The
forecast was still heavy rain later in the morning so we packed not only
waterproof jackets but also capes
As
we arrived in Benidoleig the sun made an appearance
Everyone
was pleased with the less than perfect weather and grateful that at least we
had escaped the promised heavy rain
