22 October 2018 – Green Horse

24 on today’s walk, our largest group yet
Bright sunny morning as we met in Benimaurell
The climb from the village soon warmed everyone up
And the two water stops were very welcome
We kept together and got to the top in one group
As always the banana stop was a very welcome break
It was very pleasant sitting in the sun
And everyone would have been quite pleased to stay longer
But we were soon off climbing again
We had more stops than usual to allow the group to keep together

And also to enjoy the views either side of the ridge

This is a particular favourite as it was one of our first walks in the area

The ridge walk is always longer than I remember, and more enjoyable
We arrived at our picnic site on schedule

And everyone spread out to find a comfortable rock to sit on
No sloe gin from David today, butJan had brought sufficient boiled sweets to go around

The start of the descent is steep and slippery
But the rest of the track back to the village gentle downhill
Always good to finish the walk in a welcoming bar
And this one also had a very welcoming cat

There are more photographs of the walk in the video slideshow.
