Nine
of us for today’s walk
This
included Roger and Helen who normally walk on Thursday
They
have a heavy evening on Wednesday, and wanted to get their walk in
early this week
It
was also nice to welcome Barry and Linda back after a month in the UK
Catherine
and Doug also joined us this week, even though they have done this walk many
times
Kevin
was on his own this week because Janet had a dodgy fish meal last night
And
of course our regular John, who walks with both groups each week
We
had planned to do this walk back in February
But
we changed it to Fontilles due to heavy rain forecast, and got wet anyway!
So
we were pleased to find the sun and clear blue sky when we met in the village
square
Once
more we had a cool, if not cold, wind to contend with
But
the steep climb right from the village soon warmed us up
Just
as well because it was too cold to linger long at our banana break
We
set a moderate pace and everyone reached the top without any problems
Where
we had a short break to enjoy the views and take the mandatory group photo at
the aerials
We
choose an alternative picnic site in case it was too cold when we reached the
view point
But
fortunately the wind dropped and we found our own spot for lunch
We
were also able to enjoy the view, which is the most memorable part of this walk
Our
usual bar in the square was closed, but we found another close by
