21 May 2018 – Lleus to Pinos

Thirteen of us for today’s walk
This included Anita, who came direct from taking her husband to the airport
From the start it was clear that it was going to be very hot today
And most of the climbing was also at the start of the walk
So we had lots of water stops when we could find any shade
This also gave us an opportunity to admire the views
And to have a chat
The second stage of the walk was flat and on good paths
And we had our banana break at the gorge
For some of us this was the second time here in four days
But for others their first visit
Very impressive rock formations
But also very overgrown with undergrowth
And a final steep climb at the end
But then an opportunity to recover and admire the views
I have finally worked out the winding track to the Jalon road
And then to our picnic at Pinos church
Where Elaine fed half of her lunch to this pushy cat
The return journey was mostly downhill, but not always on good paths like this
Despite the heat everyone enjoyed the walk
Walk Stats
Distance – 11km
Time Taken – 4.5
Total Ascent – 415 metres
Steps - 13500
