22 November 2018 – Olta Summit

Ten of us for today’s walk
We had to cancel both walks last week due to heavy rain
One of them was this circular walk around Olta
We had reservations about doing it today, because it is often very muddy after rain
But we were relieved to find the path quite firm
It was a cloudy day, but warmer than it has been lately

It seemed much longer than just seven days since our last walk
And it was lovely to get out and about again
Despite the lack of sun we soon warmed up
Because the path was so dry we decided to climb up to the summit
Where we were met by a herd of goats
Plus the usual stunning views
This photo shows why this is one of our favourite walks
The summit was deserted when we arrived
But we were joined by a smaller group during our picnic lunch
However there is plenty of room for all
The descent is always more difficult than the ascent
And the path was blocked in parts by recently fallen trees
Despite all it was one of our most enjoyable walks for quite some time

There are more photographs of the walk in the video slideshow.
