We
had planned Javea to Portichol for our last Thursday walk before the summer
break
But
reports of an unexpected thunder storm in Javea decided us to rearrange a more
local walk
It
was raining as we left Parcent, but stopped as we reached Jalon
We
had eight today, three opted out due to the change of walk
By
the time we reached Lliber the sky was clearing
The
temperatures rose as we continued the walk
And
we needed frequent water stops
It also proved difficult to find any shade when we reached our final
stop before lunch
Lovely
rose bush had to be photographed, even if the angle did make the nearby wooden
house look like a children’s play house
We
had our lunch at the picnic site, where there was some shade for all
There
were also some lovely views of the Jalon valley
Fortunately
it was mostly downhill back to Jalon, because the temperature rose to 27c.
Shame
we had to change our last walk of the season, but everyone enjoyed the
alternative.
We
will miss our weekly Thursday walk during the summer months. Jan and I would like to thank all who
supported the walks throughout the year, and made them such an enjoyable
experience. Hope to see you all again
in October.
