16 April 2018 – Jalon to Parcent

Ten of us for today’s alternative walk
We had planned Pinos Fossil Walk today
But forecast of rain all day caused us to change to a Jalon Valley walk
But by the time we reached Alcalali the sky was blue
There was heavy rain Sunday night, but it cleared as we prepared for the walk
In fact we had no rain at all during the walk
As we approached Parcent there was a lot of talk about a coffee in the co operativa
This was suggested by Diny and supported by Anita, the Dutch are more civilised than us Brits

However the rest of us were happy to accept their suggestion
After a pleasant half hour in the bar we started the walk back to Jalon
We took the pipeline route and had lunch at John’s suggested picnic site
By now it was sunny and warm and an ideal place for our lunch
The rest of the walk is on good tracks

It was nice not to have to watch our feet for a change

And plenty of space to spread out
So we arrived back in Jalon tired but pleased with our day’s walk
We are very lucky that we have the Jalon Valley as an alternative when rain threatens.  Today was sunny and warm, but if it had rained we could have made for the nearest village to shelter.
Walk Stats
Distance – 15 Km
Time Taken – 5 hours
Total Steps - 19000
