We were fortunate that our first walk after the summer
break was much cooler than expected and ideal for walking.
We choose the first walk carefully to cater for the long
summer break when most of us managed very little walking
Jalon to Parcent through the valley, and back along the
pipeline, is 16 km
But it is mostly flat and very good tracks and paths for
most of the way
There were 15 of us for this first walk, which is a good
number without being too large a group
We had two new members today, and four more who had
walked once or twice before
So it was a good mixture of new and more familiar faces
We set a gentle pace throughout the walk]
We arrived in Parcent just in time for our picnic lunch
at the font
The return journey along the lower slopes of the Col de
Rates was particularly pleasant
Lovely to meet up with old friends and have the
opportunity to make new ones
