27 November 2018 – Castells Serella Castle

Seventeen of us today, a larger than usual group
We were all prepared for the lower Castells temperatures
9 degrees when we left Parcent, 3 degrees when we reached Castells
The walk starts with a steady climb from the village
It was great to see Anneke and Toon after a long absence
Everyone was very pleased to arrive at the banana stop
Steve and Lynn seemed to enjoy their second walk with the group
It was nice to see Sue again, though we did miss Dave
Everyone enjoyed a short break in the sun
But then it was the steep uphill climb to the castle
With everyone walking at their own pace
We did not climb to the castle, but we did have a good break at the bottom
Then down and up again towards lunch
Which was overlooking Guadalest
It is often cold at this exposed spot
But today we were fortunate to have the warm sun
And no one was in any rush to get started again

But fortunately the return journey is all downhill
With a very pleasant section through the woods
And the end of yet another memorable walk

There are more photographs of the walk in the video slideshow.
